Auntie's August Visit

Again, another post that is overdue! Auntie came to visit in August, this trip was on work as they needed me there for a few days for some audits. I flew in early to spend the day with you and as soon as I got to your house your parents skidded out the door...apparently I was baby sitting!!! We played in your pool on the porch, which was a lot of fun, until you started trying to drink the pool!!

I'd get up early just to spend some time with you in the morning, and if you know your auntie at all, you know that's LOVE! Especially considering your house is over an hour drive from my office! And all day all I could think about was driving another hour home to come see you and get home in time for bath time! I gave you a bath every night when I was visiting, including the day you really grossed me out and POOPED ON THE SIDE OF THE TUB! GROSS!!!! You were sitting in the tub and looked at me like you might poop so i scooped you out and I didn't know what to do so I put you on the side of the tub and I thought maybe you decided not to poop, but when I picked you up to put you back in the tub...ewe...a present was already sitting there. Thanks a lot Sausage!

Besides that, I saw your first 'crawl' when I was there. Your mommy and I were sitting talking while you were playing and all the sudden you crawled about one foot but it was enough for your mom and I to get really excited!!! I tried to get you to crawl the rest of the week, but it usually ended up in tears (yours by the way). You got very mad at Auntie about that...and sure enough as soon as I flew back to Chicago you were crawling all around town.

Love,
Auntie

July Visit!

Oh little Sausage (thank your Uncle Cashew for that name by the way)! It's been far to long since I have posted and I have missed some key moments. It's actually September when I'm posting pictures from July! Anyway here are some pictures of fun times when you spent a whole week in the midwest!

Your Uncle Shew got a lot better at holding you! He even fed you! That was a big step for the Big Ape.

Grandma let you go swimming in the hot tub, you loved it! It almost put you to sleep every day, don't worry though, they turned the heat off so it wasn't TOO hot.

You got to see all your Grandparents out here along with a lot of other family.

Especially at Girls Day In...you were stuck with all the girls!!!

Lucky for you your cousin Adam, born a couple months after you, was there too! You even tried to steal his bink!

When Grandma was trying to get you and Adam to smile for a picture, she danced around and yelled and sang...you thought it was HILARIOUS, Adam did not have the same feeling and wondered who that crazy lady was....

Love,
Your Auntie

Crazy hair

Max has a fun trick...

Can you see it? Can you see the static? His hair looks really long, if you can tell!

Assume the Position

Yes, it is no secret Max loves his bottle. I handed it to him, went to another room and came back to this:
Someone please remind me...how old is this kid? 7 months? Huh? You don't say.
Cracks me up totally! I guess he's got it down...all about relaxation!

6 month well visit

On Monday Max had his 6 month well visit. He really does good at his visits. He hates the poking and prodding, but don't we all! He just fusses a little as if saying..."Hey Doc! Cut that out! That really doesn't feel good, is it really necessary?". Then come the shots! He cries for as long as it takes the Dr. to give the shots (very quick, I might add) and for me to pick him up. Once mommy has him, he's fine! Oh, I guess you're probably wanting the stats 29 inches (97th percentile) and 21 lb 2 oz (90-95th percentile). For those of you who know about his head, you'll be proud to know he's moved from the 50th percentile up to the 75th percentile...Geesh!

Pool Time!

Whew! Was it hot here yesterday, and today and tomorrow and probably the rest of the summer. Good thing Max likes the water. When we got home, since he was such a god boy the whole ride home, mommy and daddy blew up the pool and out we went to play. Don't worry, there was a blanket under that pool, up on the porch, in the shade.

The Grove

In Ocean City there is this fabulous restaurant that from the outside looks like a bait shop, turned, liquor store/ pizza joint for the locals. On the contrary! It is this eclectic little place that has fresh seafood that they smoke right out back, they also have duck, lamb, and steak. The place is a family favorite and is so hard to explain and sounds like the most bizarre place, but it is absolutely wonderful. Their menu changes daily, based on what seafood they have. There is no menu, the waiter will get the attention of everyone in the room...3 plastic picnic tables worth, (I think there are 6 tables total) and tell you what they are offering for the evening, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We go for the food but LOVE the desserts, fresh berry pies that are picture perfect every time!

Beach Weekend

Now that Max is 6 months old (I KNOW!?!?!) we decided it was time to take him to the beach. We went "down the ocean", as they say in these parts, for a few days. Max did really well all weekend in a new place. He was sick before we went, I was hoping it was just teething, so we had two rough nights with him in the same room as us, our last night there was fine, but we decided it best that we come home, especially since mommy and daddy are now sick too.

As you can see, he loved the beach. He found the sand very interesting and when he wasn't trying to eat it, he was squishing it in his hands and feet. We washed his hands off in the water and boy oh boy did he like sucking his thumb after that. I don't think we've seen him suck his thumb for that long before.

Its about a 2.5 hour drive to Bethany Beach and Max did really well there and back. He just goes along for the ride, which is fabulous for us. He does like to have company with him back there, but that's OK, because mommy likes to play with him.

Happy Memorial Day

Ok, so I'm a day late on that, but I wanted you to see this really cute picture of Max in his patriotic outifit.

Grandma and Grandpa were here to visit this weekend and boy did Max have fun. I'm not quite sure who wore who out. Max was so tired yesterday and so were the rest of us! Today Grandma Cathy said he was kinda whiney all day...there's only one of her and Max apparently wanted to be entertained today.

There was a little sleeping. Here is a typical picture of Max and Grandpa.

Here is a picture of Max and Grandma.

There was plenty of mischief and Max got to do a lot of stuff Mommy doesn't let him do. He survived. He's learning more and more everyday and he is "the smartest boy in the world".

Oh! And this is what I got for Mother's Day from Max. I'll let Auntie Em tell you how the Nannies accomplished that!
