Sleeping Beauty...Intellectual Genius

Have you ever seen a more beautiful sleeping baby? My mom always told us how sweet we were when we were sleeping. Well, this boy is sweet all the time...especially when he's sleeping...see:

When he's not sleeping he's...as Grandma Jeannie puts it...So Mature! I like to think of him as an Intellectual Genius. Check this out...sitting up and reading at only a month old!

Knuckle Sucker

Max,
Grandma & Grandpa, and Uncle John & I were so happy to spend your first Christmas with you. We snuggled with you and loved you up for 4 days! We were so sad to leave not knowing for sure when we will see you again.

When we were there we had a lot of fun watching you try to find your thumb to suck on. You don't have much control over your arms yet so Grandma Jeannie said you were just laying there waiting for that thing to go flying past so you could try to get it again. You spent more time trying to get it then actually sucking on it but those times that you caught it you were so happy about it. The times you couldn't get it, boy were you mad. You tuck your little thumb between your fingers so tight you can't figure out how to get it out. Because of this, I like to call you Knuckle Sucker because you spend more time sucking on you knuckles then you do your thumb.

Love,
Auntie Em

By Popular Demand

Well, it's been a while since anything has been posted and I've been asked to post more pictures and post pictures of Max with his eyes open. Eyes open...hard to do since he sleeps so much, but I did get this picture the other day and thought it was pretty funny.

I should give you an update as well...Max had his two week check-up yesterday and he now weights 9 lbs 10 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. The doctor is very impressed with how "little" Max is growing. We can't believe how fast he's growing! It's amazing how much he is changing already!

It's really funny to put him on his belly and watch him try to move. He gets his legs going but doesn't move anywhere and he gets so frustrated and it makes him so mad. I don't know where he thinks he's going to go at 2 1/2 weeks old, but it is fun to watch him try.

You ARE Real!

Grandma and Grandpa and I flew out to see you on Friday. We spent 2 whole days just watching you sleep and fighting over whose turn it was next to hold you. You didn’t really care as long as we kept you full dressed. You can’t stand to not be all snuggled up. Besides that though, you hardly ever cry and are the best baby we have ever seen (even if no one else believes us, it’s true)! We can’t wait to see you again at Christmas!
Love,
Auntie Em

Happy Birthday

It's hard to believe that you are one week old today...this time last week you were still getting weighed and measured and we were so excited to meet you and see what you looked like. Already you are a week old...geesh!

You've had so much going on this week...

You've been to the Doctor...twice, you've had weekend visitors that wouldn't put you down and fought over who got you next, you've met your new little friends Zach and Maggie, and so much more that we'll spare everyone the details.

You are such a good baby, the best baby Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Em have ever seen. You got to take lots of naps with Grandpa and you scared Grandma Jeannie so many times...because sometimes you are so still she thought something was wrong with you and because you "splatted" so loud in your pants she thought she was wearing it. Good Boy!!! LOL!

We can't wait to see what the future brings for you sweet, sweet baby boy.

Max's First 2 Days

2.5 Days Old

Max, today you and your mom got to go home from the hospital! When I saw a picture of you two all set to leave I told your Grandma I could not believe that you were going home with my sister! It is hard to believe that today you will sleep in the crib with the bumpers and bedskirt that your mom, great grandma, grandma, and I spent hours making. That you will wear the clothes that we so neatly hung in your closet and swing in your really cool swing! I don't think I will really believe you are here, and that you are my sisters baby until I hold you in my own arms and feel your little fingers wrapped around mine!

I can't wait to see you! Love,
Auntie Em

Not Too Much Longer

Well Pedro...like your daddy says, maybe you are just easy going like him and just hanging out. Grandma Jeannie says we need to light a fire under you (and your daddy) to get you moving. After much excitement and anticipation, if you don't arive by Monday December 3rd, that is your official arrival date. As much as I would have liked you to be here before December it looks like you are going to take your own sweet time. I just hope you are as easy going out of the womb as you are in.

We are so excited to meet you...everyone is so excited to meet you and see if you have red hair or not, or just see what you look like. I hope you like people, because there are going to be LOTS of people around loving you up. Don't be scared, they don't bite...ok, well, all of them don't bite, but Grandpa Coconut Head and your Daddy may nibble your ears a bit. It doesn't hurt, I promise.

We love you!

Mommy

Boy you're not even here and you're already in trouble!

Pedro,
Today marks your due date, and we patiently waited all day for you to come, but you must be having to much fun in your mom's belly because by now it is obvious you are not going to be here when you were suppose to be. And between you and me...your mom is NOT happy about it. You're going to have to thank your dad for keeping things under control, and for future notice, when your mom gets grumpy you better hide under your bed! Don't say I didn't warn you. Being her little sister, I've had a lot of time to learn when it's time to run away.

There has been much talk about your potential name today. I guess since you can't hold out on us very much longer, you're parents decided they better start at least narrowing it down. I think the number of potential names has now exceed 100.

Uncle Cashew (or uncle ape), is shutting the lights off on me, it's apparently bed time, so sweet dreams Pedro. We'll see you soon, hopefully!

You're Almost Here! - posted by Auntie Em

Baby Diegel aka Pedro,
Only 48 hours until your due date and we are all anxiously awaiting your arrival. Your mom especially! Your Uncle Cashew thinks you are taking double the amount of time to arrive then most babies, but I think it's just because he's really excited!

When I was in Maryland last time I know I felt your knuckles pushing on your mommy's belly. When I felt it a second time you pulled away, you already like to play hide and seek with me.

We've been calling you Pedro the last few months because your Mom and Dad can't decide on a name for you, but I think once they see you they will know exactly what to call you! Otherwise, Pedro's not that bad.

Everyone here hopes you come soon, and are really really excited to meet you. If you come this week Grandma Jeannie and Grandpa will see you before me and I don't really think thats fair, but none of us really want to wait any longer for you to get here either!

Be safe on your way out! See you soon!

Auntie Em
